Wilkerson Here:  Matt 25:40  “whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”  Just how would you describe the least of your brothers and sisters?  However you describe someone that qualifies, what you do for them, you do for Jesus.  It’s not that you do something for Jesus, it’s that you did something for the people he died to save–one of us, your own, another redeemed.  Hanging together and helping take care of those who can’t take care of themselves, qualifies I think.  Our brothers and sisters in Haiti can hardly take care of themselves.  They need your help.  If you haven’t pledged yet, do so NOW!  The least of them need you to step up.  Anything will help.  Pick water, food or medical.  RunMarkRun.com!

Training Prep:  Did 4 miles of quarter mile interval speed work.  Highest speed was a 7.5 minute mile pace and lowest was 6 minute mile pace.  Felt pretty good.

Wilkerson Here:  Traveled today from a conference in Florida.  Got here and caught up with CJ.  She had a day yesterday.  First dealing with a close friend who’s daughter is dying, to a lady who’s daughter had a miscarriage, then to the joy of our granddaughter and all new life brings  and then to a little special needs Haitian boy who with the help of  NWHCM who’s work we are supporting with Run Mark Run, was  able to live with medical help and an airlift because of people like you.  People who will give of their time and money.  We are within 60 days of the race.  Now is the time to pledge and ask others as the time draws short.

Training Prep:  Did what has been described as bricks.  Swam the quarter mile the sprint triathlon starts with and then ran 3 miles.  Only part I didn’t do was the bike.  Plan if I can to bike 10 miles tomorrow and then run 2.  Will let you know how it goes.

Wilkerson Here:  People and Purpose determine  much of our direction.  So much is all about people.  Developing our sensitivity to those we don’t know or who are not in our direct path is not easy to do.  We can be sympathetic because their circumstances look really bad.  We can have empathy is we have been there ourselves.  But compassion comes when we do something about the circumstance.  Purpose is at the heart of sustained compassion.  Having compassion is great no matter how and where you apply the act.  Focused Purpose is when you join with others to put real power in your compassion.  Thanks for joining with us to make a difference by being compassionate to people in the northwest of Haiti.

Training Prep:

Legs are really sore from trying the natural style of running.  May have to run the old way and make the change after the Mini.  At a conference in Florida and will do weights and core today.  Got to run again tomorrow.

Wilkerson Here:   Enjoyed the morning drinking coffee with my best friend, CJ.  We talked about what it means to be holy and perfect and many other topics.  Love those relaxed coffee talks.  One of the conversations points we came across was the use of God’s Word in all our decisions and behavior.  Not separating the world and Church but rather integrating the elevated persona of the Lord into the world.  Ethical decisions for example.  Infusing God’s word into those decisions lead to the best answer when faced with an impossible situation.  Not all things are black and white in the world.  In fact, I find a lot of “shades of gray”.

Training Prep:

Went swimming yesterday.  Getting better but still a good thing the pool is only 4′ deep.  Ran 3 miles today.  I am trying to change my style in hopes of less pain and improvement.  Trying the natural running style.  I really like it as it forces me to run correctly.  New style of course causes stress on new places.  Was a lot faster with less effort for sure.

Wilkerson Here:  I am going to start identifying myself first as we may have one of the other Mark’s post a blog here as well.  That way you can read them all or follow the Mark you support.  Below is a picture of the countdown clock at OneAmericas Tower showing the time left till the OneAmerica Mini (half) Marathon starts.  I see it most mornings and watch it tick off the days until the race.  Don’t postpone your pledge!!!!!!!!!  We have a ways to go and need every penny now or your lump sum contribution.
