*TWEET THIS!Mark A. Wilkerson is a senior vice president with the OneAmerica Financial Partners, Inc.. He is a 34 year veteran of the life insurance industry, starting his career as a field agent in Dallas, TX. As a past athlete, he understands the value of good health and exercise. Like most who are growing their careers and families, he found that he neglected to pay close attention to a regiment of exercise and discovered like many, his health was paying the price with higher than normal cholesterol readings, poor sleeping habits and weight gain. Turning back to regular exercise, he started watching his diet and walking on a regular basis until he was running regularly. Blood chemistry became normal, weight dropped back to college day levels, sleep and energy are no longer a problem.
As Mark enters another stage of his life, works like Northwest Haiti Christian Mission capture his attention. Prior to the earthquake of 2010 in Haiti, CJ, Mark’s wife, was interested in helping the orphanage and people of Haiti after visiting there. After the earthquake, looking for ways to help were top of mind. Using running and specifically the OneAmerica Mini Marathon, the world largest half marathon, Mark focused his efforts on raising money for the ongoing medical needs of the people of Haiti. Run Mark Run, came from the need to help somehow. Using the creativity of many friends, this campaign will make an immediate impact on the lives of real people that need our help!
Check out the news clip from Mark’s run last year:
