Heard that CNN showed some of the people of Japan holding a sign thanking people for their prayers.  Had a presentation today so I called my prayer warrior CJ and asked her to pray for my recall.  Amazing what age will cause you to ask for these days.  She did and I had recall.  Love God!  Love her! Love you, too!

Great day of training.  Swam the quarter mile with no stops!!!!  That is huge for me.  Then ran 3 miles with no struggle.  But not to much joy, there is a 12 mile bike ride in the middle.  Makes the run harder.  But I did swim without stopping–that’s a good day today.

Wilkerson Here:  Looked up earthquakes in the on-line Bible search engine of -Biblegateway.com.  I used the New International version and Matt 24:7, Mark 13:8 and Luke 21:11 scored the word “earthquake”.  The message was: Nations would rise against Nations, Kings would rise against Kings, famines and earthquakes would be signs of birth pains and signs from Heaven.  After reading the three accounts from the beginning of the chapter (you should, too), the conclusion is based in this ending.  He/She who stands firm, will be saved.  That means that when the world happens around us, stand firm in the Gospel and no matter what, we will be saved if we count on Jesus and God’s plan of redemption.  These type of events should strengthen our resolve to build up one another and waste no time in telling others about “the good news of Jesus”.  Your money to Haiti will offer medical help, food and water along with “Living Water” to those who need and will listen.

NO TRAINING TODAY!   Hooray, needed a day off.

Wilkerson Here:   Looking for a thought to record tonight, I am watching my granddaughter, Luci.  Decided to focus on children, go figure.  The children of Haiti may be loved as much as this little girl, but they face sickness, hunger and medical needs we can’t imagine.  Having little food, clean water and not much hope if there is a severe medical problem is common there.  I give thanks for our abundance and your generosity to support the children of Haiti.  It makes a difference one penny at a time.   As we are the children of God, “let us love not just in words or speech but with actions and in truth”.  1 John 3:18

Training Prep:  Went swimming today.  Had a much better day.  Getting the breathing down.  Have to do 18 lengths of the pool in the race and did 36 today in total.  Still have to do all 18 without stopping.   Used a floating device you put in between your legs.  Can’t kick but your rear end doesn’t sink either.  Allows you to work on other stuff like breathing and technique.  Tempted to swim with one.

Wilkerson Here:

Pray for our brothers and sisters in Japan.

Got home tonight and took a long brisk walk with my girlfriend.  CJ has been my girlfriend, best friend, roommate and wife for going on 34 years.  Enjoyed the time with her.  Then did a round of of weights.

Wilkerson Here:

  • Roughly half of Haitians are illiterate, especially in rural areas like the Northwest.
  • 80 percent of Haitian children who attend school attend private schools.
  • Haiti’s per capita GDP is $480 (US) a year, and school fees are prohibitively expensive at an estimated $70 – $80 dollars a year per child.

NWHCM schools target the lowest-income students in a community, offering them classes and Christian teaching from pre-school to the sixth grade.  They provide an education that sharpens young minds.  The school in Saint-Louis du Nord also offers classes for deaf and blind children.  Since all the classrooms are staffed by Haitian teachers, the schools provide valuable jobs to Haitians in a region where most people are unemployed.  They also combat malnutrition and hunger through the schools.  More than a thousand children receive daily meals in the school-lunch program – without which, many would eat almost nothing.  Your contributions will go for clean water, food and medical help for these people.  We could use your help now.

Training Prep:  Did a combo work out tonight.  Did a swim (Getting a little better.  Heater was broken in the pool and it was cold).  Then went into a spinning class and rode the bike with the class and finish a 10 mile ride.  Tomorrow is a day off but may try to do weights.  Off schedule a little and need to get to a full set of weights.
