Hey Everyone!

Well its shaping up to be another beautiful day here in Philadelphia.  Yesterday I ran through pennypack for about 6 miles and was pretty happy about my fitness after only a few weeks of training.  I finally managed to avoid a series of hills and instead just ran up ONE.  I even ran into an old High School teacher of mine, Mr. Casey who now runs regularly.

In non-running related news I went out to eat with my wonderful home-group last night and enjoyed a little time out on city line ave.  Home group has been a true blessing for me the past two years and I’m never suprised by the love they provide for old friends and new friends.  It is one of the great things our Church strives to do at Liberti, to encourage a community of believers not just on Sundays but throughout the week and our lives!

I hope everyone enjoys this weekend and all the rain it is supposed to provide!  Todays run will be a hilly 5 miler! Wish me luck

Good Morning Everyone!

So this is the first week of full training.   Yesterday I did a five miler from my new apartment in Jenkintown and hit a lot of hills.  It seems everywhere i go there are a lot of hills.  Well i guess what doesn’t kill me will only make me stronger.  During my runs I am really starting to realize how many beautiful things God provides.  I love just getting out the door with nothing to distract me but what God has provided, very peaceful feeling out there.  Lastly this month marks the month i’ll be getting married to my beautiful fiancee…..wish us luck.   God Bless!

So today I got to run my favorites trails!  I was pretty excited to run at Pennypack Ecological Preserve this afternoon.  It is where i trained throughout high school and in the summers during college.  I ran about five miles up and down the constant hills through the mud and snow and i felt great!  I also will be moving into my new apartment this week which means I’ll get some weight lifting in to go with my running.  I have to admit i can’t wait to get back into shape after such a long layoff from running.  I can’t wait until i can run 8-9 miles in 50-60 mins and feel comfortable. By time i get in that shape it should be just about time for the half marathon…so wish me luck!  God Bless you all!

Well this is just amazing.  I’ve never been part of something like this and I am so blessed and excited to be running to help a country i love so much!  I am still catching up to all of this social networking but I am enjoying it and most importantly i’m learning, albeit slowly.  As for me here in Philadelphia….well its 70 degrees and sunny so no complaints here…and no excuses not to run.  I ran today at Pennypack Park in the Northeast section of the city.  I ran for about five miles and felt good for all of them except mile 4.  This is my first week running again since October so needless to say its going to take a couple weeks to get back on the wagon.  I can’t wait to get back in racing shape and I also can’t wait to see what we are going to do to help Haiti!
