Patience. I know somewhere in scripture there are lessons in patience. The first one that comes to mind is Adam and Eve. Seems if they would have been patient to wait, they might have asked some questions of God about the claim put forth by the serpent rather than relying on their own understanding and logic. Then jump to Cain who let his anger and ego burn into sin rather than being patient to learn and understand. Instead he was ruled by how he felt. Moving then to Abraham who sought to help fulfill God’s faithfulness and created an offspring that distracts us this very day. Moses and so on– I am just not as patient a person as I hope to be. Relying on God’s timing rather than my own, takes being certain of what I hope for and do not see. The heroes of scripture were claimed righteous by their faith, in the book of Hebrews in the Bible. Losing patience with God’s timing is a mistake. How many times have we/you told someone that learning from others mistakes is wisdom? Sure hope I wise up soon!
On an airplane early this morning and tonight (right now). Going to start weights tonight. Saying that as a commitment so I won’t confess tomorrow I didn’t. Will get home late but will do the routine I have laid out. 2 sets of 10 reps, working each major muscle group. Going to use dumbbells. Will take time tonight to find the weight I am going to use for each exercise. It needs to be a weight I can push up in 2 seconds and lower in 2 seconds and just barely do the 10 reps. I will list the routine once I have it down. Part of the commitment is to do the work no matter what. Here is one of the first tests of resolve for me in weight training.
